New Uzbekistan University and Technical University of Munich Forge Historic Strategic Partnership
We are proud to announce a historic partnership between New Uzbekistan University (NewUU) and the Technical University of Munich (TUM) — Europe’s number one university and one of the world’s top 22 institutions, according to international rankings.
This milestone collaboration represents a bold step forward in positioning Uzbekistan at the forefront of global higher education and research in medicine, engineering, and innovation.
Strategic Collaboration Cemented Through High-Level Meetings
As part of this growing partnership, a series of high-level discussions took place between:
• Prof. Dr. Thomas F. Hofmann, President of TUM
• Dr. Martin Zeiss, CEO of the TUM University Hospital
• Prof. Dr. Stephanie Combs, Dean of the TUM School of Medicine
• Senior leadership of New Uzbekistan University
These meetings laid the groundwork for an ambitious and impactful partnership that will redefine the future of higher education and healthcare in Uzbekistan.
Establishment of the School of Medicine at New Uzbekistan University
One of the most significant outcomes of the partnership is the creation of a new School of Medicine at New Uzbekistan University, developed in close collaboration with the TUM School of Medicine.
This school will:

• Be supported by TUM’s curriculum development expertise
