New Uzbekistan University Launches International Industrial Advisory Council to Connect Students with German Industry
In a major step toward international industry-academia collaboration, New Uzbekistan University (NewUU) has launched the International Industrial Advisory Council, hosting its first general assembly on campus. This landmark event brings together leading industrial stakeholders from Uzbekistan and Germany to jointly create new opportunities for education, research, and hands-on experience for the next generation of Uzbek professionals.
A Strategic Platform for Bilateral Industrial Cooperation
The International Industrial Advisory Council is designed to:
• Strengthen ties between Uzbekistan’s industrial sectors and German enterprises
• Develop structured internship and apprenticeship programs in German companies for NewUU students
• Support the localization of global industrial expertise within Uzbekistan’s rapidly modernizing economy
• Guide curriculum and infrastructure development in line with international industry standards
This platform also serves as a strategic advisory body to help NewUU align its academic offerings with the evolving needs of both domestic and international labor markets.
Empowering Students with Global Experience
One of the Council’s primary goals is to provide extensive internship opportunities in German industrial giants for NewUU students, helping them gain:
• First-hand experience in globally competitive environments
• Exposure to advanced technologies and innovation processes
• Skills in line with Industry 4.0 and the green energy transition
• Enhanced employability both in Uzbekistan and internationally
This internship program will be open to students across various disciplines, including engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, material sciences, and industrial management.
High-Level Participation and Recognition
The event was attended by senior government officials and industry leaders.
Hilola Umarova, Minister of Preschool and School Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, delivered opening remarks and awarded commemorative badges to council members in recognition of their commitment to educational advancement.
The Council includes high-ranking representatives from key industrial institutions in Uzbekistan:

• “Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex” JSC
• “Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company” JSC

Plans for On-Campus Industrial Laboratories and Innovation Centers
Beyond internship programs, the Council also discussed future plans to establish advanced laboratories and production centers of partner companies within the NewUU campus. These facilities will be developed in collaboration with German firms and will serve as:
• Applied research hubs for joint industrial projects
• Training centers for students and faculty in cutting-edge industrial practices
• Incubation spaces for technology startups and spin-offs
• Platforms for technology transfer and commercialization
